NOTE: Demand for Optometry services at Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center currently exceeds capacity, and we are limited to seeing Active Duty patients only in our clinic. Since the summer of 2019 we have actively been working to hire another Optometrist, which we anticipate will allow us to open up services to our retirees and family members in the future.
In the meantime, please refer to the following TRICARE / Humana Military website to find TRICARE-enrolled Optometrists in your area: https://www.goperspecta.com/VPD/HumanaMilitary/public/ProviderSearch/Main
** Routine Optometry appointments DO NOT require referrals** -- you may call any listed office and book an appointment in accordance with your benefit level (TRICARE Prime, Standard, etc.). Please ensure the provider you select does indeed accept TRICARE before you commit to an appointment.
At the completion of your appointment, you are invited to turn in a copy of your examination and/or prescription to the KACC medical records window or to the Vision & Hearing front desk -- we will ensure the chart gets into your Electronic Health Record to help ensure the continuity of care you deserve.
Our Optometry clinic offers routine vision examinations, diagnoses and treats most acute ocular infections and injuries, and orders/repairs glasses for military personnel.
Optometry sees patients from ages 6-64 years old.
Optometry patients are seen by appointment. Eye glass repair service is available on a walk-in basis.
