In accordance with the Tri-Service Food Code (TB MED 530), KACC Preventive Medicine, Environmental Health Services provides periodic Food Handler's Courses (FHC). TB MED 530 is applicable to military, civilian, contract, and volunteer personnel providing military food service.
The purpose of this course is to ensure that personnel minimize the risk of foodborne illness and prepare food that is of the highest quality possible. This course is intended for those personnel hosting an organizational cookout, bake sales, chapel suppers, & other similar events. The FHC should be conducted yearly.
This class is NOT intended to certify food managers, supervisors, or the person in charge (PIC) in food safety as specified in Section 2-102.20 of the Tri-Service Food Code, however, personnel requiring this training can contact us for scheduling.
