On Jan. 1, 2018, historic reform will roll out in the Military Health System (MHS). A new era in TRICARE support contracts will improve health care delivery and enhance medical readiness.
Part of this reform entails consolidating TRICARE's current three regions, the North, South, and West, to two regions, the East and West.
Beginning Dec. 1, 2017, as part of this transition, enrollments in TRICARE health plans were delayed (i.e., "frozen") while the files containing your health data were transferred to the incoming managed care support contractors.
As the data conversion is now complete and the enrollment freeze has been lifted, the conversion of beneficiaries enrolled in TRICARE Standard and Extra to TRICARE Select is proceeding on schedule.
Managed care contractors are processing the enrollment applications that were submitted during the freeze period.
The Beneficiary Web Enrollment (BWE) web site, which has been unavailable to receive enrollment applications during this time will be brought back online on the first week of January 2018.
As the assignment of Primary Care Managers (PCM) will take some time, please continue to see your current PCM unless you are notified of a new PCM by your managed care contractor.
If you don't have an assigned PCM, you can see an authorized TRICARE provider.
Your health and well-being are our priority.
